For many years His Grace Bishop Gerasimos of Abydos taught at Holy Cross Greek Orthodox School of Theology. This book is a collection of the notes taken by Presbytera Mendrinos from the bishop’s Basic Orthodox Theology course. In addition, Presbytera Mendrinos has interviewed clergy who knew Bishop Gerasimos during his days residing on the campus of Hellenic College-Holy Cross. Through the interviews and the course, the reader will encounter a holy man, who has embodied the Orthodox Tradition and related its riches to generations of students, including many clergy of the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese of America. In these pages, the reader will receive a “basic” introduction to Orthodox Christianity which can lead them to deeper study, reflection, and practice of the Orthodox Christian faith.
